SNAP Benefits Emergency Fund
URGENT: SNAP Benefits have been cut for the month of November.
42 million Americans—this including 16 million children—who benefit from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are losing half of their monthly food budget. This means that youth in South Los Angeles that have been living in a food desert for decades, will have even less access to healthy food options this month.
For over thirty years, we at A Place Called Home have been dedicated to ensuring that the kids in South LA have continued access to the resources that will help them not only survive, but thrive. This year alone, we have provided 12,000+ bags of free groceries to our families through our weekly Family Resource Depot and served 17,000+ meals to our members. This work can be change lives, but we can't do it alone.
The time for action is now. Youth have had a hard enough year without this added barrier to sufficient nutrition. We are asking for your support to raise emergency funds for our families. Just $150 can feed one of our families for a month, imagine the possibilities if everyone gave what they could! The impact is clear and the need is urgent—
Can our youth count on your support?
